The Miracle of Coincidence
This
is a two-part article. Here is the first part, which is about the mechanics of
how miracles actually manifest. (Hint: it ain't what you think it is!) The second
part is about opening your channels of creativity in order to allow the miracles
to occur. It will be sent to you in the next edition of my newsletter on February
15.
Now
maybe you don't think that a coincidence qualifies as a miracle, but here's my
story that illustrates how a coincidence is a vital part of how a miracle occurs. Once
upon a time I had a coincidence given to me. It was quite a wonderful surprise
at the time and little did I know then that at later time it would become even
greater in its wonderfulness. The
manifestation of the coincidence began when I was working as a Realtor in Port
Townsend, WA. Ms. C, a client of one of my co-Realtors had traveled from southern
California, where she lived at the time, to Port Townsend in hopes of finding
a house in which she could enjoy her retirement. However, her trip coincided with
a two-week trip my co-Realtor had unexpectedly taken. I offered to help Ms. C
in her home search with the agreement that when my co-Realtor friend came back,
she would be working once again with her. She agreed, so off we went to go see
some houses that fit her criteria. Almost
immediately she found a house she liked very much and made an offer on it, which
I presented to the owners. It was instantly accepted. The house had renters living
in it, so Ms. C couldn't take immediate possession of it. Still, she wanted to
come up to Port Townsend on trips to take care of financial arrangements and get
to know the area. She
and I had become fast friends during this transaction and I offered to let her
stay at my house when she came to town. One
day Connie phoned me to tell me she'd arrived. I told her to just let herself
into my house and make herself at home. "I'll
have a nice bottle of wine and some pupus (Hawaiian for "snacks") ready for when
you get home," she told me, and after a bit of hesitation added, "And I have a
coincidence for you." "What's
a coincidence?" I asked, but she'd already hung up. True
to her word, when I walked into my house after my day of real estate duties, she
handed me a glass of chilled, crisp white wine. "Now,
follow me and I'll show you the coincidence," she said, leading me to my bedroom.
She
walked around the bed and positioned herself on the opposite side of it. Opening
her arms wide she announced, "TA DA!" "What
is it?" I asked. "I don't see anything different here. It's just the same comforter
on my bed that I've had for ages." With
a gleam in her eye she lifted a corner of the comforter and pulled it back. "Here's
your coincidence!" she announced.
Beneath what I thought was my comforter was another identical grey comforter.
The one on top of the bed, the one I thought was mine, was her "coincidence"!
"When I went back to California I bought you this comforter as a thank you gift
for your hospitality. When I saw it in the store I thought you'd probably like
it since it perfectly matches the main color scheme of your home - dove grey,"
she explained. This
coincidence could only have occured as a result of a series of events: 1.
After checking out numerous locations, Ms. C decided to move to Port Townsend. 2.
She contacted a Realtor in our office, not one of the many other real estate offices
in town. 3. The Realtor she initially contacted was out of town when Ms. C
spontaneously decided to drive up to Port Townsend and look at some houses for
sale. 4. I was scheduled for Floor Time (acting receptionist as well as first
available Realtor) on the day that Ms. C first came to Port Townsend. 5. She
found a house to buy that first day. 6. We hit it off and became friends immediately. 7.
And, of course, she found the coincidence and bought it for me. All
miracles occur as a series of related events. A grey comforter may not seem like
a miracle to you, but consider all the steps it took for that comforter to get
to me. Take
a look at some of the occurances in your life, and track back to how they came
to be in your life. What you'll discover is that miracles - big or small - don't
just suddenly happen. There's much in the way of preparation that must occur in
order for a miracle - no matter how grand or small - to manifest in your life. What
wondrous, beautiful, magical miracles are preparing to appear in your life right
now? Love, Kathy

Manifesting Your Best Life
One
of the most powerful and effective methods I've found for manifesting what you
want in your life is a Treasure Map (also commonly known as a Goal Setting Poster).
I
was introduced to the use of Treasure Maps when I was in real estate. At the beginning
of every year our broker would hold a Treasure Map Party during which everyone
in the office would create their Map for the upcoming year. Here are just a few
success stories of Treasure Maps: - On
my first Treasure Map I had some pretty big goals, such as a trip to Australia,
a windsuring vacation in Hawaii, a new computer, a horse with a long list of specifications,
and... the man of my dreams. I hung my Treasure Map on the wall in front of my
desk where I would see it constantly. That year I got everything on my treasure
map, including the man of my dreams who is now my husband of 30+ years.
- One
of the agents in the office put a map of Italy on her Treasure Map. Six months
later she went to Italy with friend of hers... all expenses paid!
- Another
agent created a Treasure Map with a picture of a wedding ring on it. A few weeks
later she excitedly invited us all to her wedding. Incidentally, the picture she'd
used of a wedding ring on her Treasure Map was the same one her now-husband offered
her when he proposed.
What
would you like to manifest during the upcoming year? You can add power to your
manifesting with a Treasure Map. Complete instructions are included in Chapter
6 of An Inner Journey: Living Your Life Purpose. More
