It is only by association with another that the qualities of each, both desirable and undesirable, can be ascertained. A thing standing alone just is. However, a thing next to another can then be compared and judged as to the various qualities and, thus, the degrees of desirability or undesirability. Unlike contrast, in which two or more items are compared for their differences, association finds similarities. It is this which is part of the process of choice, which in itself is yet another method for delving into a subject in order to find the truth of it. When you have determined the qualities that are desirable for the purpose intended, then you may use many methods to discern the truth in all choices regarding that subject. By use of association you can easily compare qualities of that which is known to contain the truth you are searching for to that which is yet not known, not yet determined, or remains undiscerned. Everything, including solid and tangible objects as well as amorphous intangibles, contains a multitude of qualities. It is the association of all the varying qualities that makes each different from the other. When searching for what you want, it is not advisable to search for that which is unlike your desire. To search for that which is not like the desired is to find and focus on the opposite, naturally. This, in accordance with The Law of Attraction, brings the undesired item even closer. Thus it is only logical to find the associated qualities of that which is desired and put your attention on them. As the practice of association is continued, each object or thing becomes nearer to the perfection of the desired. As your saying so aptly states, "practice makes perfect". Each step taken toward accurate association brings you closer to the desired in all its perfection. In all things there are associations that can be made with the desired end. However, not all are equal. There will be variations in quantity, intensity, clarity, and more. It is important, therefore, to discern the level of associated likeness of each to the desired. Will the association bring great progress or will it bring minute inching toward the end? This must be balanced against all qualities within the association to determine the total worthiness of it.
