There is much that is contained in a perspective. Much beyond the common definition of perspective. Typically, perspective is defined as the view from a specific location in relation to a subject that is being viewed. Gaining a new perspective is defined as moving to a different location in order to gain another, different viewpoint of a subject and thereby hopefully also gaining more information about the subject. Scarcely considered in the typical act of obtaining a new perspective is the periphery of information that the viewer carries within oneself. It is one thing to step backward in order to distance oneself physically from a subject and thus gain more information. It's an entirely different thing to distance oneself from oneself for a truly new perspective. In order to gain a genuinely unique perspective you must dissociate completely from the subject. To do otherwise is to simply receive the same information but from a differing distance or direction. The most highly desired and clearest perspective is one in which you, the viewer, remove yourself from the environment. Only by doing so can you be truly assured of gaining a unique perspective with new and useful information. While this may seem impossible, it is not. There are many methods by which you can achieve entirely new perspective. One such method is to imagine yourself as a different person, such as an antagonist to the subject. Stepping into such a role, even as a temporary imagining, results in a surprising amount of new information streaming in from this new perspective. Creative souls can, of course, fashion many differing personas for a variety of perspectives on any given subject. Imagine the wealth of knowledge that can be gleaned with just such a practice. Perspective is often thought of as viewing a subject from a different distance - either farther away or closer - or from a different viewpoint - either above or from another direction. While this may give somewhat of a differing viewpoint and some small amount of new information, to experience a truly different perspective the challenge is to view it from within and from without. A perspective from within you call "subjective". It is filtered and tainted by the viewer's own history, experiences, viewpoints, judgments, beliefs, values, programming, and conditioning. Although this perspective will typically glean very little in the way of new and unique information, there is still much of value to be gained by use of this view from within. A perspective from without is to view a subject with new eyes, so to speak. It allows one to lose the personal aspect and to look at the subject with a noncommittal, nonjudgmental viewpoint. This of course is the more difficult perspective in which you may position yourself. However, if you can achieve the perspective from without, you will be rewarded with a far greater quantity of unique information than with the perspective from within. A wise person will experiment with as many unique perspectives as is possible in order to gain the greatest amount of wisdom. It is in this way that the most beneficial choices can be made as you go about the daily creation of your life. Love, Omnidimensional
