Notching Up Your Happiness

Happiness, joy, satisfaction, glee, and all other similar emotions feel so wonderful. Don't you wish you could feel like that always? Unfortunately, our high frequency emotions are all temporary. No sooner do we hit the high spot of a good feeling when the high begins to dissipate and we find ourselves back at ground level again. Or even lower.

What if there was a way for you to instantly begin the bounce back up again to the higher level of your happy emotions?

Well there is. And not just one method, but a delightful array of them. Here's a few of my favorites that I use to raise my emotions to Feel Good Level when I find myself wallowing around in the muck of boredom, depression, sadness, and other such low frequency, bummer emotions.

They may not take you to the level of ecstasy, but I guarantee that you'll feel much happier after experiencing one or more of them.

  • Flip Switch: This technique takes just a few seconds and is very effective in emotion shifting. When you find your thoughts wallowing in depressing areas, simply shift your thought to something you love... or even like. It doesn't have to be the opposite of the thing that's bringing you down. Just anything that makes you feel happier. A beautiful flower or a happy memory will do it.
  • Music: the beautiful sounds and rhythms of certain music can shift your emotions upward within minutes. Favorite musical artists of mine who specialize in using sound to raise emotional energy are Kitaro, David Gibson, Steven Halpern, and The Arcangelos Chamber.
  • Deep Breathing: Slowly fill your lungs from the bottom to the top and then just as slowly release the breath from the top to the bottom. During this breathing your stomach should distend when inhaling and retract when releasing the air. If your shoulders move up during the in-breath that means you're shallow breathing, which is what the body does when in a state of fear. Shallow breathing sends the message to the adrenal glands to pump out adrenaline, creating further stress and fear. So relax and deep breathe.
  • Shift Your Physicality: Tony Robbins teaches that depression can be created by our physical form, as can happy emotions. When you feel sad, remind yourself to stand up straight, shoulders back, head lifted up, and eyes wide open. And remember to smile! Simply changing your physicality will change your emotions.
  • Love and Gratitude List: Make a list of things you love and/or feel grateful to have in your life. Look around you if you can't think of anything. Trees, flowers, beautiful artwork, your favorite clothes, delicious food. Anything and everything. Here's some of my Gratitude List: Bunny slippers, my crystals, a soft bed, the critters who we feed at our birdfeeders like deer, squirrels, and raccoons.
  • Exercise: If you don't already know how to do Yoga or Tai Chi find a class and learn. Both of them focus on breathing as well as physical and energetic movement. You don't need to do an hour of exercise to raise your emotional energy level. There's a three minute form of Yoga that stretches and relaxes all the major muscles in your body (3 Minutes to a Pain Free Life by Dr. Joseph Weisberg) and a five minute form of Tai Chi (Yang Style 34 Movement Form).
  • Tree: Trees radiate soothing, healing energy. As an extra bonus, they release pure, clean oxygen. Find a forest near you and go for a walk in the trees.
  • Acupressure: Derived from the ancient Chinese practice of Acupuncture, acupressure simply uses gentle finger-pad pressure on specific points on your body. In just a few minutes you can gain relief from many emotional disturbances. An excellent resource is the book Acupressure's Potent Points by Michael Reed Gach.
  • Aromatherapy: the amygdala gland which resides in the brain is the headquarters of emotional memory. Certain smells can dramatically influence your emotions. Think about how you react to the odors of bread baking, a Christmas tree, and certain perfumes. The conscious use of essential oils such as Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and various trees like Pine and Fir can quickly raise your emotional level.   • Tell someone "Thank you": Not only do you feel happier when expressing your gratitude to another person, you make the other person feel happier also. They then begin to radiate their happier energy to all around them, thus raising other people's happiness. And so on and so on.

Before each Tarot session, I ask for spiritual guidance regarding which of the decks would be most appropriate to use. The deck I use is determined by the spiritual guidance of my Higher Self and yours.

About the Readings

Readings are one hour and are by phone. If you live near me they can be in person. Whether the reading is remote or in-person, it's done in the Crystal Room at my house - a room filled with the pure, high-vibrational energy of many crystals.

After the reading I will email you a photo of the cards, so that you might must upon them and perhaps gain even greater knowledge about the issue.
